Every boutique traveller needs a good overnight bag for weekends away and short breaks. It needs to be practical, but should also reflect the style of the destination. This classic Harrison Weekender Travel Bag from Aspinal of London fit the bill perfectly for our recent stay at the Tumbling Waters Resort, Stanwell Tops, Australia.
Large Harrision Weekender Travel Bag
The bag has been hand-crafted from supple Italian calf leather. It’s available in black or chocolate brown, our choice was brown, as it has a more natural look. With a 46 litre capacity (Height 36cm, Width 51cm, Depth 25cm) the bag is large enough to carry all of your travel essentials for a short break. It’s also a suitable size for cabin luggage. The semi-structured design ensures that the bag holds its shape well even when only partially full.
Interior
Inside, there is a spacious main compartment for garments and a separate zipped pocket for smaller essentials. This makes it easy to keep your belongings organised when on the road. The interior of the bag is fabric-lined and the contents are secured by a quality metal zipper and two leather zip pulls. The bag can be carried by the two tubular leather handles or by the adjustable shoulder strap (56cm), which is also fully detachable.
A nice touch is the antique-style brass buckles and hardware. These features are practical, but also give the piece a superior finish, which is pleasing to the eye. The brass theme continues underneath the bag with the protective feet on the base. The construction is refined, yet rugged. This bag will last a lifetime. All that is needed is the occasional clean and treatment with a leather conditioner.
Summary
The piece arrives in an Aspinal protective luggage bag and retails at £695 at the time of writing. Additionally, the bag can be personalised with up to four initials on the leather luggage tag. It’s practical and aesthetically pleasing. Being Italian calf leather it will age well and gain character with use. Several of our other leather overnight bags have improved with age, the leather gains a patina, including nicks and scratches which enhances the appearance. At Unique Boutique Travel, we cannot fault the Harrison Weekender from Aspinal’s, we hope that we will enjoy many more adventures with it in the future.
